In 1974, when I was 14 years old, I performed the Mendelssohn Piano Concerto at the Spoke World's Fair with the Granite Youth Symphony. Recently I found the recording of it (49 years ago) and decided to paint a piece as I listened. "Allegro" was born! I used 36 metallic paint colors. My first swoosh was very still and clean--so I decided to take my brush and roll the paint in sync with the music. Then I splattered the remaining paint on my brush onto the satin black metal. Impasto paint pieces representing the staccato notes and chords. The black metal representing the black Steinway grand piano I performed on, I love how the "rolls" in the paint look 3 dimensional from different angles. My product image is with natural light and I've added one with spotlights. I'm a big believer in lighting art--it brings it to life!
