âI deeply and completely love, accept and forgive myself.â  Words I have repeated over and over again through the years as I practice emotional freedom technique (EFT).  Assisting me to deeply and completely love and accept myself.  Easier at times than others.  So I drew on energy from the root chakra (red) and the solar plexus chakra (yellow) allowing â acceptanZâ of life on earth and â acceptanZâ of myself.  

Red is the color of passion, energy and Action!  When I first started painting, I was drawn to paint on metal and acrylic.  I just loved how my paints would glide on their surface.  I purchased red acrylic platters at Z Gallerie.  For some reason, I just needed red. Now I understand why.  Carrying emotions of rage and anger (I was really seeing RED!) and feeling six feet under as my memories of childhood abuse surfaced, I swept a lemon yellow stroke across the red acrylic--symbolizing taking my personal power back.

Red is powerfully linked to our most primitive physical and emotional needs of survival and self-preservation. I was barely surviving in those days.  Painting on pure red helped give me the courage and change I was so desperately needing.

It was a very cold winter and I was suffering a bit from seasonal depression. So I went into my studio and created 3 paintings on anodized aluminum.  One was "Alive!"  Red is the color of vitality and physical health--the outgoing positive âyes to lifeâ attitude.  I needed a jumpstart.  I only used two red paint colors for the original of this print--they blended beautifully.  I loved how the thick paint settled as a circle in the middle.  I used a high gloss paint, and it dried glossy.  I have invented tools to paint strokes anywhere from 3' to 30'--so I can paint in one motion.  Almost looks like I used a spinning tool, but it was just my hands, my tool, and my energy!

One of my first paintings--painted on a red acrylic platter.  The âbeginningZâ of my art career.  I was playing with various techniques and combinations of the chakra colors.  A pretty good beginning, wouldn't you say?

I bought them all.  For some reason, I just needed red.

There is nothing shy about orange!  It’s the kick ass color.  It helps us take account of our lives, and take action to make appropriate “changeZ”, to move upward and onward.  I passionately love orange.  Whether it is the statement or accent color in any original I paint, it adds life, an energetic spark and completion to that piece.  Orange is connected to the sacral or 2nd chakra.

This was one of the first originals I painted with custom tools I had created. I love the bold clean stroke of orange on the deep red.  I felt a very powerful energy surge through me when painting this stroke.   In traditional Chinese philosophy, “chi” is the vital life force that flows through the body.  When balanced, it can enhance mental and physical capacity and creativity, smooth out emotions, and help us enter higher states of consciousness.  To me “chi” is bold, powerful, and strong.  Like orange.

"chili pepperZ" was a simple tap of left over paint on my palette knife on a piece of black acrylic, after painting a 7'x2' original.  It felt like “chili pepperZ” to me.  Hanging upside down.

Picking up the energy of the color indigo to represent clairvoyanZ from the third eye chakra, I topped it off with orange and red-- from the sacral and root chakras.  Showing that my creativity and courage to create, come from a higher power.

I picked up ballroom âdanZZZâ about seven years ago, performing the latin danZZZs.  Very sensuous.  Very romantic.  Very red.

To me, âdeep Loveâ is at the core of our beings.  It IS our being.  It is infinite.  Coming full circle.  We just have to dig deep to find it at times....but it's there waiting for us to reunite.  As Marianne Williamson says "A Return to Love".

I was asked to paint the silhouette of a woman's body for a hotel project.  I was amazed at what I created!  My first realism piece.  I woke up one morning, and my guides said it was time to paint it.  When I went into my studio, I was inspired to paint with red acrylics on red metal using a touch of gold representing the God within.

For me, ÒgratitudeÓ is movement. Combining energy from all of the chakras.Ê Moving at the speed of lightening. When we practice ÒgratitudeÓ our perspective changes. We gain peace and happiness. ÊBut not everyone is into the chakras or spiritual elements that inspire my work.Ê One of my clients saw ÒgratitudeÓ and loved it.Ê He races motor bikes and it reminded him of speed.Ê He said, ÒIÕm not into the chakras or any of that stuff, I just have to have it!

âinFinity & beYondâ brings me back to my finger painting days in kindergarten.  The vision of my child self painting with infinite freedom.  Makes me giggle inside.
