I painted “refresh” when I was feeling the need for a creative reset. I was in quite a funk. It was the dead of winter and an inversion loomed over our heads. Intuitively I decided to use only two colors. The soft blue color representing a Zen energy, and the vibrant deep green accelerating an “out with the old in with the new” vibe--a much needed release for me at the time.
This original is painted on a 42"x42" piece of 1/4" clear acrylic, polished edges, 2" deep clear acrylic mounting frame with french cleat to hang. Lighting helps cast shadows of the art strokes on the wall--adding depth and making the piece even larger. This is one of my favorites!
