green (chakraZ™)

My eye was drawn to a beautiful chrysoprase necklace at a street market kiosk in Marseille, France. The designer had created the most incredible jewelry out of healing stones. Chrysoprase is a delightful stone of the green ray. It has metaphysical properties for healing as well as being a stone to attract new love, abundance and prosperity. It promotes joy and happiness and through the vibration of Divine Truth, while helping to heal the heart of the energy of depression and anxiety, So true!

Ocean water is my zen. Beautiful turquoise/aqua water. Especially in Bermuda. In color psychology, turquoise controls and heals the emotions creating emotional balance and stability. It brings me a calm and peace. Yet really stirs my insides to exciting things that lie ahead.

"Zerendipity" -- the occurrence and development of events by chance in a happy or beneficial way. I have been blessed with a lot of experiences like this in my life.  I know that I have angels watching out for me. "Zerendipity" is happy and refreshing to me. That's why I chose lime green, light blue and lavendar.  The color combo just fit. 

After weeks of creating the chakraZ WHITE series in my head, I entered my studio one evening to paint them. Each stroke on a 27"x21" piece of deep bronze metal.  Signifying coming out of the dark. 8 strokes of color--7 from the primary chakra colors--red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet--and pink. The chakra of love. I had been doing a lot of healing work with the chakra colors, releasing memories of childhood abuse, and felt inspired to paint a white stroke through each representing a clearing of any negative energy in that specific chakra. Painting these intense colors dramatically shifted me physiologically in a very positive direction!

Lime green, associated with the 4th or heart chakra, inspires youthfulness, naivety, and playfulness. It creates a feeling of anticipation and helps to clear the mind of negativity. Lime is my favorite green color--and the white streak opens the way for the creation of anything the mind can conceive. "Youthful"-ness certainly helps!

The chakraZ WHITE series includes the images "powerful" "life!" "clarity" "youthful" "mantraZ" "manifeZt" "divine wiZdom" and "magnetiZm".

"tranZformation" is one of my first originals. Healing from memories of childhood abuse, painting these various shades of green unblocked my heart chakra, releasing anger and hatred and attracting love and forgiveness. These colors physiologically shifted me! This original is displayed in my home office, and I look at it everyday. Reminding myself just how far I've come.

"seafoam" is seen as a color of luck, freshness, and renewal. Promoting a sense of calm and clarity. This stroke does that for me. Like when I'm near the ocean--my favorite place on earth.

Green, associated with the heart chakra, has the "rHythm" of forgiveness. I went through years of healing from childhood trauma and had to dig deep to be able to forgive. There's a saying "Forgiveness is accepting your past." It has been and at times is still a process for me--but I truly feel that forgiveness is more my gift than for the people I am forgiving. It frees me and brings me peace.

Mint green renews and restores depleted energy. It is a sanctuary away from the stresses of modern living -- restoring us back to a sense of well being. I love the collaboration of it with copper. Copper is believed to be a metal that heals. This piece just brings a calm to my soul.

I grew up in Toronto, Canada, until I was 11. During the summer we would ride our bikes to the local convenience store to get popsicles. Lime was my favorite flavor! "cool citron" brings me back to those days. Refreshing!

The fourth, or heart chakra, is associated with the color green and the thymus. Its qualities and functions are "unconditional/divine love and harmony, forgiveness, healing, compassion, understanding, transformation, warmth, sharing, sincerity, devotion, selflessness." This is just a small section of the complete "breaking freee" print. An 82"x48" print of "breaking freee" hangs in the Cuisine Cuisine restaurant of The Mira in Hong Kong. It's spectacular.
