I am excited to rerelease my cd "i am free”, produced in 2003—a celebration of God's healing in my life from memories of childhood abuse. These songs were downloaded to me over years of a dark and difficult time, and the words and music comforted me greatly. I titled it “i am free” because at the time I was finally free of the memories, and it was when I was listening to the mixes after recording, that my art began pouring out of me. Catapulting me from darkness to light! I've come a very long way--and am in a very good place in my life right now. I feel extremely blessed. We all have a story, right? I grew up with an alcoholic grandfather and journeyed with a son who experienced drug addiction for 17 years. I always say that life is like a college course—Life 101—darkness vs. light. I told my son we have both experienced that—just in different ways. Whether you suffer from depression, abuse, addiction, or any type of trauma, I pray that either one or all of these songs will resonate with you as they did me. I honor everyone's belief in God. I am a believer in Christ. He was and is my healer. The more I tap into His energy and visualize Him--the more “i am free”. I pray the same freedom for you. Years ago, one of my therapists asked me, “Pam, who are you without your story of abuse?” It had become my identity. I wanted to find a way to release that. I had experienced a vast number of healing modalities that blessed me in so many ways, and when I began using the Emotional Freedom Technique, through a trained therapist, my story began to let go of me. You can discover it on The Tapping Solution. It is life-changing! You can find my music on Apple and Spotify as well as 150 channels of streaming available. Or you can purchase right here. God speed. And if you have any questions for me regarding my healing processes, please feel free to email me at art@pamelanielsen.com. LIFE BIOGRAPHY For those who would like to know a bit more about me, here you go . . . I am extremely right-brained—and have enjoyed arts of all kinds in my life. Born and raised in Toronto Canada, to an Italian father and Hungarian mother, I sang my first solo at the age of 8, then turned to piano performance. At the age of 14, I performed a piano concerto at the World’s Fair in Spokane, and returned to singing once again when I was in my late teens. I made several guest appearances singing the national anthem at AAA baseball games, following my husband around the country playing pro ball, NBA basketball games, and also sang with the Joe Muscolino dance band for a few years. Inspired by music and artists from all different genres—including Karen Carpenter, Basia, Gloria Estefan, Earth Wind & Fire, Wynonna, Phil Vassar, Natalie Cole, Manhatten Transfer, Michael Buble, and Tony Bennett—I put a bit of each in my songs and my art! I love painting to music. My husband, Scott, pitched for the Mariners, Yankees, White Sox, and Mets over a period of 9 years. We moved 36 times—beginning with our first son and ending when I was pregnant with our 4th son. After Scott retired from baseball, I began acting and landed roles on “Touched by an Angel”, “Promised Land”, “Cover Me”, the made-for-television movie “No Place Like Home”, as well as numerous television and radio commercials and industrial films. But my claim to fame (at least to my family and friends) is that I was in the blue-dart scene with Jim Carrey in “Dumb & Dumber”. That was such a fun moment. You couldn’t help but start laughing when he entered the room. He was so great to work with. When my art appeared, I never thought of it as a career. I was just painting the colors connected to the chakras, and they were transforming me. Then my neighbor, who is a lighting designer, saw my work and put it in his office. One of his clients who was building a $4 million home at the time, purchased several pieces from me. And it took off from there. I am grateful for my life. Even the tough times. They have made me who I am. Brought me to my knees, dependent on the Lord, compassionate, understanding, and compelled me to dig deep and find out who I truly am. It’s been quite a journey, and I look forward to the journey ahead.
