blue (chakraZ™)

Aqua evokes the purity of crystalline waters, and the exhilaration and relaxation of the sea. I have been very blessed to travel the world with my husband's work. I am my most happy when relaxing by the seas whether in the Caribbean or Sardinia or Greece . . .they just soothe my soul. Years ago my husband and I, with a couple of his brothers, experienced the aqua/blue warm waters in Samoa while visiting there to transfer his sister's gravesite from one side of the island to the other. She had been run over by a car when she was 18 months while Scott's father was there teaching English. Scott was 5 years old at the time. A very painful and emotional experience for all of them, to say the least. Those waters soothed our spirits on that trip.

Aqua aura quartz is used by crystal healers and others to calm the emotions and the emotional body. It is a powerful stress reliever. It is also a strong energy for reducing or eliminating anger and symbolizes a period of transition.

Aqua stands for inner peace and serenity. It's a sign that we are strengthening our relationship with God and achieving spiritual awareness. Maybe that's why I love it so much--I feel very inspired, grounded and connected to my Source when I physically and mentally visualize or paint aqua. It also inspires truth, trust and letting go. I've had to do a lot of letting go in my life. Aqua really helps me do that.

After weeks of creating the chakraZª WHITE series in my head, I entered my studio one evening to paint them. Each stroke on a 27"x21" piece of deep bronze metal.  Signifying coming out of the dark. 8 strokes of color--7 from the primary chakra colors--red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet--and pink. The chakra of love. I had been doing a lot of healing work with the chakra colors, releasing memories of childhood abuse, and felt inspired to paint a white stroke through each representing a clearing of any negative energy in that specific chakra. Painting these intense colors dramatically shifted me physiologically in a very positive direction!

"mantraZ" is a word or phrase repeated over and over during meditation. They are generally sacred in nature--a name or sound that both uplifts you and helps you keep your focus. They are designed to change you. How better to paint it then with blue--associated with the throat chakra.  Like music to my ears.

My eye was drawn to a beautiful chrysoprase necklace at a street market kiosk in Marseille, France. The designer had created the most incredible jewelry out of healing stones. Chrysoprase is a delightful stone of the green ray. It has metaphysical properties for healing as well as being a stone to attract new love, abundance and prosperity. It promotes joy and happiness and through the vibration of Divine Truth, while helping to heal the heart of the energy of depression and anxiety, So true!

"seafoam" is seen as a color of luck, freshness, and renewal. Promoting a sense of calm and clarity. This stroke does that for me. Like when I'm near the ocean--my favorite place on earth.

This is one of my first art originals I painted. A "rebirth" from a very dark period in my life. Coming out of tranquil blue water... red gave me the courage and intensity I needed to push forward with a stroke of orange/yellow -- to claim back my personal and creative power.

We all have our "perZeption" of things. Lines may be blurred at times -- because we are all wired differently, trying to find our way. The aqua blue helps to calm and give clarity.

Don't know why I called this orgaZmic blueZ -- I just did! It actually reminds me of coral under the sea. And the mustard/yellow coloration creates such a unique contemporary vibe. Possibly orgaZmic? You make the call.

Indigo is the color of intuition and perception and is helpful in opening the third eye. Related to the 6th or brow chakra. Visionary and manifesting.

This piece IS me. I had created a huge print from my original--8'x5'--and had taken it out of my home for an art show. I couldn't figure out why I felt so out of sorts--then I realized manifeZtation was gone! Indigo, related to the brow chakra often called "the third eye" allows me to go inside myself to obtain peace and quiet and the freedom to create.

Blue, the color of the throat chakra, owns the quality of independenZ. Robert Louis Stevenson said, "To know what you prefer instead of humbly saying "amen" to what the world tells you you ought to prefer is to have kept your soul alive." Quieting all voices to listen to your own. Yellow stimulates our mental faculties; it activates the left or analytical brain. Connected to the solar plexus chakra, yellow is also associated with the charge, sun, and high volumes of energy. And pale blue inspires creativity and the freedom to break free... "going beYond". Let's go!

I had just been through a very tough surgery. I was needing some soft energy in my life. So I began painting pastels and neutral metallic tones. "Clouds baby blue" is part of my minimalist collection--tone on tone strokes. It rolls like soft clouds on a summer day. Blue is considered beneficial to the mind and body. It slows human metabolism and produces a calming effect and tranquility. It truly did for me.

Ocean water is my zen. Beautiful turquoise/aqua water. Especially in Bermuda. In color psychology, turquoise controls and heals the emotions creating emotional balance and stability. It brings me a calm and peace. Yet really stirs my insides to exciting things that lie ahead.

Water brings me back to me. It helps to free my mind from my normal activities and keeps me in the now. Stillness. I love water.

Water! Birth! Refreshment! Life! A baby splashing in the tub or swimming pool. A dolphin splashing in the ocean. A jet skier splashing on a lake. "Splash!"

Of all my prints, Oneness l and Oneness are my favorites! "Oneness" with myself, God and the Universe. White represents clarity, breathing room, the heavens. Deep black and purple represent the edge of the Universe. Aqua, the ocean, with God and my higher consciousness, the gold, adding beautiful touches of enlightenment to my life. Oneness.

"cool blue" brings me back to those days. And being an ocean lover--I feel like I'm right on the shore watching the tide come in. The metallic print mounted to the 1" acrylic block gives a stunning translucent affect.

It tasted like cotton candy! A girl can dream can't she? And now I dream of this color in the ocean waters of Greece and Sardinia. Printed on metallic paper behind 1" acrylic--it replicates these translucent waters. Heavenly.
