LOVE heartZ (prints)

I was asked to create images for a project on diversity and inclusivity. I pondered for weeks as to what to paint, and when I entered my studio, hearts began pouring out of me. I couldn't stop! LOVE is the universal language. It encompasses us all.

"balanced LOVE" is one of four print versions from the same original painting. I was inspired to paint this heart on a satin soft green acrylic substrate. It just calms me--like the feel of fresh grass underfoot. And the vision of beautiful trees--especially palm trees!

Green is a symbol of rebirth. It’s the color of youth, prosperity, growth and progress. And physically, the color green has a relaxing, calming effect on our bodies which contributes to increased focus and balance.

"BE LOVE" was the first heart I painted in this collection!  The original painting is 54"x32".  I wanted to encompass all shades of color because, to me, each of our hearts resonates to a different color.  That gives us our energetic signature.  We are so unique and individual, yet our energies are ONE.  And we get to BE LOVE in our own special way.

I painted "compassionate LOVE" using taupe and silver metallic paints because of their gentleness and calming effect.  Taupe inherits a natural type of warmth and organic down-to-earthness as well.  Throughout my life, I have learned that when I don't understand someone--it's because I haven't opened my heart to view them from their perspective--what they have been through or where they come for.  When I do, I tend to experience compassion and empathy for them.  Life can be tough.

Violet/lavender is the color of enlightenment, grace, and divine love. There's just something about lavender that penetrates into my soul. I can feel it when I paint on it and with it. A reverent peace comes over me. It's a very sacred color to me. Leonardo Da Vinci said, “Our power will increase tenfold if we meditated under the violet stained glass windows in the cathedral.” I just love that.

I painted "earth LOVE" with Mother Earth in mind. Her beauty envelops us in love and supports us continually. I love the look and feel of deep rich soil. It grounds me. My husband used to play professional baseball for the Yankees and White Sox, and he makes the dirt in our yard look like a ballpark. lol We have the best dirt on the block!

The original of "free-Spirited LOVE" was painted using taupe and silver metallic paints because of their gentleness and calming effect. I love this heart so much, I wanted to add some spice to it! So I shifted the color to neon/hot pink in photoshop for this print. "free-Spirited LOVE" is me! I love how it makes me feel. To me it represents enthusiasm, fascination, happiness, creativity, determination, attraction, success, encouragement, and stimulation. 

And one night recently, after coming home from a hospital stay for Covid, I was given a jolt of neon pink in my dreams in the form of sea salts-it made me feel so vibrant, alive and happy!  The healing vibration of color at work!  It was amazing!

"God's LOVE" is one of three print versions from the same original painting. The original was painted in aqua colors--but then I decided to shift the colors to lavender for another print-- inspired by my lavender dream I had walking with God. It was life changing.

I was asked to create images for a project on diversity and  inclusivity.  As I pondered what to paint, asking myself what is the true essence of inclusivity, I entered my studio and hearts began pouring out of me.  I couldn't stop!  LOVE is the essence and the universal language that encompasses us all.

I painted the original "soulZ love" on a satin blue acrylic.  I love how the light creates such a glow on it and how my metallic paints dance on its surface.  Because everyone's soul resonates to a different color vibration,  I decided to process the image through photoshop and make it orange.  "happy LOVE" came to life!

Frank Sinatra said, "Orange is the happiest color."  I couldn't agree more (although yellow comes close for me).  I love orange!  It is connected to the sacral chakra and is the color tied most to fun times, happy and energetic days.  There is nothing even remotely calm associated with this color.  Orange feeds my energy and lightens my spirit!  It feels new and fresh to me.  I can actually taste it.  It rejuvenates my cells and calls out to my creative juices.   I love how orange made "soulZ LOVE" come alive in a different way.  One of my favorites.

"loveZ to LOVE " is another version of "growing LOVE".   I decided to put it through the photoshop process and was excited to find this color combo!  Oozing with positivity, hot pink provides warmth and comfort. When we see the hot pink, it inspires us to cling to hope. There’s no obstacle too big for pink to overcome. With its steadfast optimism, pink is perpetually upbeat. 

And orange is known as one of the cheeriest colors, it is the antithesis of darkness. Color psychology teaches us that seeing the color orange can ignite motivation, hope, and positivity. Given its ecstatic spirit, it helps us look on the bright side.

This combo is unstoppable!

So I shifted the color to rose pink in photoshop for this print.  It's such a luxurious color to me.  Very rich in tone.  Such beauty.

I LOVE neon colors. They make me SO happy. I love the way they look on my skin in the summertime. And how they make me feel. So I had to paint a neon heart.  Neon colors represent enthusiasm, fascination, happiness, creativity, determination, attraction, success, encouragement, and stimulation. There you go. That says it all!

"ocean LOVE" is the original version of three prints from the same original painting. I am such an ocean lover and these specific colors remind me of the waters in Sardinia and Samoa. Its energy brings me such peace, serenity, clarity, openness, expansion, endless possibilities . . . I could go on and on! One day I will be living by the ocean. I can't wait.

I painted "ONE LOVE" in honor of the LBGTQ community.  Adding a stroke of brown, black and white representing all races.  We truly are "ONE LOVE"--our souls are LOVE.  Sometimes we have to dig deep to find it.

"organic LOVE" was born from the smell and colors of organic greens and copper foliage combined with baby blue hydrangea I experience when I walk into a floral shop. I'm breathing it in right now.

Buddha says “If we could see the miracle of a single flower clearly, our whole life would change.” I am SO grateful for "organic LOVE"--it blesses our lives everyday if we just stop and take a moment to soak it in. Indoor and outdoor.

"passionate LOVE". Yummy. Just gives me goosebumps all over my body. I'm Italian--need I say more?

Blue is calming and soothing--especially this shade.  It reminds me of  the "something blue" wedding tradition.

Then I decided to process the image in photoshop and make it an extremely vibrant lime green and red--bringing it some fun, youth, happiness and passion! Kickass LOVE--lol.
